Gerneral information The Antec Sonata plus chassis is equipped with several features for building a quiet PC system. The chassis includes integrated hard drive decoupling and with sound-deadening material layered side panels. The chassis is black with a fine aluminium front. The chassis offers space for up to 4 hard drives depending on the chosen mounting mechanism. You can mount the drives with screws decoupled by silicone grommets (4 drives) or by putting them into elastic suspenders which allow a nearly coplete decoupled mounting (3 drives). The drives can be cooled additionally by up to two optional 92mm fans at the chassis front. The preinstalled fan mount includes a washable dust filter. The rotation speed of the included 120mm chassis fan can be adjusted to low, medium and high speed by a small controller inside the chassis. We recommend to replace the standard fan by a decoupled, quieter fan - find our recommendation in the addon area at the right of this page. Other features of the case are the easy to open front-panel and integrated cable clips. The front panel has power and reset button as well as 2* USB2.0, 1* IEEE1394 and headphones and microphone. The side panels are layered with a high density polycarbone sound-deadening material which reduces vibration of the side panel and blocks outgoing noise as well. Silicone chassis stands reduce the transmission of vibrations to the ground. |
