Gerneral information The Verax Helado 2 PWM/T offer sufficient cooling for all current Intel and AMD processors on socket 775/754/939/940 and AM2. The intelligent Verax fan combines the PWM signal of the mainboard with the temperature of the heatsink to calculate the required fan speed. The decoupled mounting of the fan reduces vibrations and ensures a quiet operation of the Helado 2 cooler. The Verax Helado 2 is based on three direct-touch dual-heatipes which take the heat directly from the CPU cover to the aluminium lamellas above where the intelligent Verax 92mm fan works. The fan is decoupled from the heatsink to avoid the transmission of vibrations from the fan to the heatsink and to the chassis. The fan is controlled by the mainboard via PWM. It combines the PWM signal with the temperature from the integrated sensor and calculates the required fan speed. This functionality reduces unnecessary rotation speed increases due to short term CPU load. Normally the fan speed increases immediately because the core temperature rises even if the heatsink is relatively cold and able to buffer the heat for a while. The Verax fan recognizes this situation and does not increase the fans speed then. If the heatsink is already hot the Verax fan will increase the fan speed immediately in order to ensure proper cooling of the CPU. The Verax Helaod 2 PWM/T can also be used in mainboards which do not supply a PWM signal. In this case it will work temperature controlled only. |
