Gerneral information The Papst fan 8412N2/GHP is a PWM controlled 80mm fan manufactured by Papst. The Papst 8412N2/GHP has a 4pin mainboard connector which is found on socket 775 and AM2 mainboards. The mainboard controlls the fan speed in relation to the CPU temperature automatically. The electronic of the Papst fan is designed to convert the PWM signal to a precise fan speed which can be adjusted in fine steps. Many common asian products can only convert the signal in coarse steps which results in unneccesary noise level. The given technical data is related to a 100% usage. Normally the controller of the board reduces the fan speed to a nearly noiseless level (depends on the heatsink which is important for the over all cooling performance - a bad heatsink can cause high fan speeds) |
